There are also a ton of really good twink weapons to be had here, which can sell for tons of plat depending on what server you're on. These Mercenaries can be good options to level up first unless you have access to some of the most powerful Legendary Mercenaries. When you zone in, the area you are in has mobs level 88-91ish. The best place in this zone is the hobgoblins, which are directly left of where you zone in, at the north end of the canyon. EMPIRES OF KUNARK & RING OF SCALE - GETTING TO 110 Empires of Kunark is the 23rd expansion. After 75, you get much stronger gear so you can quickly kill the minotaurs at the minotaur fort. Everything is all sparkly and golden. THIS GUIDE ASSUMES YOU ARE PAY TO PLAY. I don't like them and only do them if guildmates beg me to. There are plenty of other sets from House of Thule and Veil of Alaris that can be had relatively cheaply, so do your research and check them out. The ramps leading down into each area of The Grounds are great camp spots and there are halls and nooks of the various buildings in Erudin Burning that you can set up in without much fuss. There a couple of hallway corners that are mostly safe as well, but you have to kill to them and that can be dangerous. Do they take up a group slot? This is due to the way parties divide up exp. The west is a mess and quickly drops away forcing you to gate out one way or another. Go. That said, the HAs are the only thing that scale. AFK/Mercenary Leveling Guide for Everquest Levels 1-85 This is a guide dedicated to leveling your character automatically while either fully AFK or partially AFK. My next endeavor is to actually give Underfoot and Seeds of Destruction another run through and see if there are any additionally effective areas there I missed. The westside is still gangster though, so you can kill most of the stuff there. BEST: 38-48 City of Mist(PoK>Field of Bones>Emerald Jungle>City) - This is will very likely be some of the fastest leveling you will do. You can get a little more life out of the zone by acquiring one of the temporary keys that let you teleport up to Grieg's spawn point. Dulak's Harbor (35-43)(PoK>Gulf of Gunthak>Dulak's) - You can go higher than this by killing cultists and stuff in the tunnels of the zone, but I think the best thing about this place is the mob density for lower levels. After about 12 though, you can speed things up immensely if you're fighting with your tank merc and he can hold aggro way better after 10. This amounts to tens of thousands of AA's. (Test server people should average 37%.) Try and kill at least one Captain of the Guard. House of Thule, Lower Floors(80-85 W/GEAR IF SOLO OR BOX)(PoK>Feerott, the Dream>House of Thule) - The courtyard used to be one of the best grinding spots in the game. Also adding a few notes about Sarith and Resplendant Temple as I spent some serious time in them lately but really just came to my conclusions about them. BEST: (14-18)-30 Blightfire Moors (Crescent Reach>Blightfire Moors) - If you came in at 14, kills snakes and rats that are between the CR zone line and the PoKnowledge book. Fully AFK means you can walk away and not worry about your characters, partially means that you may have to be present in case something If you're a damn the torpedos type, you can pull the fire troops around the giant Solusek Ro, who is standing there in all his glory. Go left from the giant hole in the ground after zone in until you get to a pond. When actively playing, your group should be able to easily clear all three rooms plus the solo pulls nearby. Velkator's Laboratory (45-55)(PoK>Great Divide>Velk's) - This place has grown on me a lot. The mobs have varying levels of HP, but don't hit that hard in comparison to even other TDS content. It should open and let you swim through to The Hole zone. Each time I go back I wander for 5 minutes lost until I log again. 1 of 2 Go to page. EQ progression has a nice zone by zone guide up to OoW expansion, recommended level for the zone with a rating for the quality of exp there and best of all a map highlighting the mob levels in different areas of the zone usually with a star showing best hunting spots. Also his armor and weapons will get better as he levels up. Some are also scattered amongst the buildings, just use "Find" to locate them. For a quick example, an Apprentice Tier V mercenary caps out at a 90% rez where as a Journeyman Tier I mercenary will have a 96% rez. Moloing is effective in the early levels due to overpowered Tank Mercs, but starting in the 60s leveling takes longer and the Tank Merc becomes less overpowered versus the content. Special mercenaries are unlocked via other means, usually involving an expenditure of real money. At 49, get to the very top of the crystal ramps and go through the fake wall and then head up to the upper kobold camp and kill these guys to 52. Chapterhouse of the Fallen (96-100)(PoK>Freeport>Commonlands or Once you do attunement quest from Shard's Landing, Guild Hall>TP to Shard's Landing>Portal to Chapterhouse) - I love this zone as a paladin. IF YOU'RE NOT BRAND NEW AND KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING/NEW PLAYERS AFTER YOU FINISH MINES: 1-(14-18) Crescent Reach (You zone out of Mines and are automatically transported here. Favorite area is the Queen's castle area. Also please note the races that can be clerics are the only races allowed to be healers, same goes for tanks. The Call of the Forsaken expansion introduced mercenary equipment, gear you can put on your mercenary . You will need an invis item or supply of Cloudy Potions though as there are a lot of living creatures between you and the undead section of the zone. At 46 you can fight the goblins at the zone in or move up the ramp to the left side of their courtyard and kill the crusaders and sentry's. At about 52, head further into the zone, through the aquaduct area and start killing rotting peasants, nihilists, and commoners. They hit a lot harder and have a lot of HP, so if you have trouble go back to spiders and other critters until 76-77. Erillion, City of Bronze (95-100)(Guild Hall, Buy a Stone of the Shard's Fall>TP to Shard's Landing>Erillion) - This place is pretty easy and is the easiest option here by far.
