After college, Eugene joined The Washington Post in 1980 as a City Hall reporter, and until 1984, he was promoted to city editor. He won a Pulitzer Prize in 2009, was elected to the Pulitzer Prize Board in 2011, and served as its chair from 2017 to 2018. Robinson's two seasons with the Packers saw him reach the Super Bowl in both years and win Super Bowl XXXI.
